What is EbizPortfolio.com?EbizPortfolio.com was started by Spider Web Design Team in October of 2006. The site is a platform for hosting online portfolios. We offer cheap hosting and services for all individuals wishing to have an electronic representation of their portfolio for the world to see. Our database of users is browsable and searchable, making portfolios easily accessible for anyone who wishes to view a portfolio of a certain type. Why do I need an online portfolio?A typical resume is restricted to a single page for simplicity and readability. When a company looks at a resume, they don't like flipping through pages and generally just dismiss multiple page resumes without even reading them. Additionally, there may be projects that you would like to show off, however a resume does not allow for that.
Having an online portfolio allows you to show off all of your projects, and allows potential employers to browse through your information quickly and effectively. You are no longer restricted to a single page format that is similar to every other resume out there. You can present ALL of your information in a way that best describes you. I purchased a template, I connected to the FTP, but it shows no files. What do I do?A template comes with 5 basic pages: Home, Resume, Education, Employment, and Contact. All you need to do is upload .html files with the respective names to the ftp. For example, the information you want displayed on your home page you would upload in a file called 'home.html' (without the single quotes). You must upload a file for each category, or that page in your portfolio will be blank. If you purchased extra categories, upload a file with the respective category name (I.E. 'projects.html' if you purchased a Projects category). I uploaded the html files and they show up, but they don't display correctly. If the html files are displaying incorrectly, chances are they are not in the correct format. Please see the next question. What is the correct format for html files that I'm uploading for a template? The html files should contain only code that would be acceptable within (but not including) the body tag. This means no doctype, html, header, meta, title, or body tags should be included. All other tags are acceptable, provided they are valid html syntax. If you believe your html files are in the correct format and they are still not displaying properly, please use an html validator such as W3C to verify the html. If problems persist, contact us. It should be noted that the doctype of your portfolio is XHTML 1.0 Transitional. I don't know what an .html file is, how am I supposed to upload an .html file?If you do not know what an html file is or how to go about creating one, there are two routes you can take. Most versions of Microsoft Word include an option to save the document as an html file. If you use this feature, it is not guaranteed to be compatible with our templates. The other route you can take is to purchase an advanced template and allow us to create the html files for you. You messed up my resume!!
